Shijo-Kawaramachi河原町
Kyoto's busiest center. Department stores, covered arcades and restaurants are all on foot, and the Hankyu limited express runs to Osaka. Unbeatable for convenience, though rents run high for the city.

Saiin西院
Five minutes to Kawaramachi on the Hankyu and about forty to Osaka, at noticeably lower rents than the center. Students and first jobbers gather here, and the shopping streets and supermarkets make daily life easy.

Demachiyanagi出町柳
